Why have a lawyer?
Lawyers are legal specialists, licensed and trained to practice law. They advise you according to your situation, draft your contracts and various other documents, as well as represent you and build your litigation strategy if need be. Their support is important to secure your business operations. Their support is also necessary in some instances.
According to us, a lawyer should or needs to be involved in these situations:
– For specific projects: setting up a company, negotiating a new partnership or business agreement, start hiring employees, close a deal, etc.
– For daily corporate follow-up: legal secretary, contracts review, HR, etc.
– In pre-litigation phases when you feel things are going wrong with your partner, client, supplier, employee.
– In case of litigation to represent your interests before judicial or arbitral courts.
What are your standards and ethics when working for clients?
As lawyers, we are bound to respect specific ethics rules, so we ensure the most appropriate support to our clients.
We value independence and avoid conflicts of interests when working with and for our clients. For instance, we will not tell you the things you want to hear, but the things we believe are right in order to safeguard your interests and with respect to the applicable law. At the same time, you can rest assured that we will represent you with competence and diligence, not the other parties.
We also place a high emphasis on professional secrecy, so all information shared are privileged and our correspondence is handled in strict confidentiality to protect your activities.
What will this cost?
From our first meeting, we start working for you, by taking the time to understand your situation. This first meeting is billed by the hour and provides us with elements to build a realistic quote to help you on your case. Our quote, if agreed upon, is paid 50% upfront, so we can quickly invest the necessary means to support you.

In China, justice is served quickly. If your case requires a representation before Courts or Arbitral institutions, then it might take between 4 to 6 months for a judgement or a decision to come out (excluding appeals/second instance).

Not necessarily. We usually prefer to find other alternatives rather than going to Court, whenever possible and in accordance with our clients’ wishes, without compromising their chances. If going to Court is required to safeguard your interests, we will accompany you all along.
What do I need to do to get started?
You will need to provide us official documents, regarding identities, company incorporation, business license, AoAs, chopped contracts, etc. Do not worry though, we will list every document we will need from you to get started on your case.
